Hello, and welcome to Big Moon Apothecary! I'm Mara (they/them), your guide in this enchanting space dedicated to self-love, activism, and the magic that lies within each of us. Here, we celebrate the beauty of diversity and the power of embracing our true selves.

Since 2009, I've been committed to activism, focusing on fat liberation and the celebration of diverse bodies. My journey has taken me through various forms of expression, including writing for fat liberation blogs, participating in podcasts and interviews, and modeling locally. Each facet of my work is infused with joy and the belief in the transformative power of self-love.

As a photographer for The Fat Naked Art Project, I aim to capture the essence of body positivity and self-acceptance. This project is a testament to the beauty of

all bodies, challenging societal norms and encouraging individuals to embrace their unique forms.

Big Moon Apothecary was born from my passion for witchcraft as a tool for self-love. It is a reflection of my identity as a fat, queer, nonbinary, and disabled individual. I envisioned a space where people can come together, find joy, and weave magic into their lives and advocacy work. It's about creating a world that my child—and all children—deserve.
